Clinic surgeons are board-certified ophthalmologists with years of experience performing surgical and laser procedures. 

Licensed Optometrists

Optometrists are specifically educated, trained and licensed to examine the eye and surrounding structures for the purpose of prescribing eyewear or contact lenses.  All doctors are board certified optometrists and Dr. Kaplan specializes in comprehensive eye exams, as well as Sports Vision.

Just one of the many benefits of choosing Suncoast Eye Center/Eye Surgery Institute whether it’s for cataract, droopy eyelid, retinal, corneal or cosmetic surgery is that your procedures are performed in our own Ambulatory Surgery Institute where your privacy, comfort and personal care are ensured.

The Suncoast Surgery Institute opened in January 1989, to offer our patients the personal attention and care they deserve. This state-of-the-art facility features two fully equipped operating rooms, two laser suites as well as a comfortable pre and post-operative area. Our main goal is to make your surgical experience as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

The Surgery Institute is Medicare-certified and fully licensed by the State of Florida.

As an additional convenience, courtesy transportation is provided upon request for all surgery patients. Just let us know prior to your surgery.

Saving Sight Together

Dr. Lawrence A. Seigel, in an continuing effort to formally reach out into the community to help others, successfully established the Suncoast Eye Center Foundation in 1985. These non-profit Foundations goals are to provide or obtain, necessary eye care and treatment for the needy in our community and educate the communities served by the Suncoast Eye Center about eye health care.
